Fuel Tank
As well as our shop on the Esplanade, we also operate the diesel fuel tank for yachts wishing to refuel during their stay in Lerwick. The tank is located a short distance from the south end of the Albert Building. We do not keep staff at the tank, so please come to the shop building (only a short distance away) or call us during opening hours to arrange receiving fuel.

Fuelling Hours: Monday - Saturday Call of visit the LHD Shop to arrange delivery during fuelling hours. A callout charge is applicable if shop staff are required to operate the tank outside these hours. Shop staff will open the tank and assist you to take aboard fuel. Return to the shop to fill out any required propulsion duty declaration and to pay for the diesel. Payment at the LHD Shop must be made within 1 hour of receiving fuel. |
24-Hour Access Access the tank door key inside the key box using the combination previously provided to you. Unspool the hose and take nozzle board vessel as necessary. Take care while working near the pier's edge. Insert the key fob into the slot inside tank door and follow the instructions onscreen. When both the nozzle and key fob are removed a 2 minute timer starts, within which you must start dispensing fuel. When finished dispensing, return the nozzle to the holster. Close the tank door and return the key to the key box. You will be invoiced for the fuel in due course. |
Please berth as close as possible to the tank, as there is a limited range to the tank’s hose. Once you have fuelled please vacate the berth promptly after payment to allow other vessels to use the fuel tank.
